Mandate Fulfillment

IMSE has worked with teachers, schools and districts in several states across the country affected by mandates that require teachers to be trained in specialty reading methodologies.  The mandates are often targeted at general reading, special education and dyslexia focused initiatives.

Arkansas Reading Initiative for Student Excellence (R.I.S.E.): The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education is an approved provider for Arkansas's Reading Initiative for Student Excellence (R.I.S.E.) program for Pathway I. Click here for a list of approved providers.

South Carolina Read To Succeed Literacy Teacher Endorsement: IMSE's Orton-Gillingham courses and practicums have been approved by the South Carolina Department of Education to satisfy the Instructional Practices coursework requirement of the Read to Succeed legislation in the following capacities:

  • Completion of both the Comprehensive and Intermediate courses (60 hours of professional development). Course name and number: 19-385 IMSE O-G Comprehensive and Intermediate Training
  • OR
  • Completion of the Comprehensive or Intermediate Course and its corresponding practicum (80 hours of professional development). Course names and numbers: 20-395 IMSE Comprehensive Training and Practicum or 20-396 IMSE Intermediate Training and Practicum.

Utah Tier II and Tier III Reading Interventionist Certification: The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education's Certification programs  meet requirements for Utah's Tier II and Tier III Reading Interventionist certification. To learn more, please visit here .
